World Music Day Celebration is Today!

WORLD MUSIC DAY — Today is June 21 and the world is celebrating the world music day. The world music day was a tradition that dates its root from France. It started out as a small time local music festival. The festival started at 1982 and its still celebrated up to this day. The idea for the celebration was from Jack Lang, the minister of culture from that time. The idea was first broached in 1976 by American musician Joel Cohen in the US.

The World Music day is celebrated in many countries across Europe, North America and Asia. Some countries to be part of the celebration are Argentina, Australia, Britain, Luxemburg, Germany, Switzerland, Costa Rica, China, India, Lebanon, the Philippines and Malaysia. These are just some countries who celebrate the worldwide event, there are more It also widely known as The Fête de la Musique which means World Music Day.
