Both fighters start out feeling each other out. They hurl jabs at each other but no real blows yet. Carwin gets a left hook in. Carwin also gets a knee in, it looks like Carwin is getting the upper hand on the stand-up game. Carwin is now pinching Lesnar to the fence. Lesnar slips, Carwin gets off punches one after another with both hands. Lesnar is just trying to not get hit with the punches, he is losing the round. Lesnar gets a cut above his left eye. Carwin then gets in two hard elbows which shook Lesnar. Lesnar survives the round but he lost that one badly.

Both fighters touch gloves, Lesnar tries to get in but he gets a counter straight. Lesnar attempts another takedown and nails it. Lesnar is in half mount. Lesnar tries to get into mount, he then slides over with a side choke. Choke is locked in. Carwin is in trouble. Lesnar adjusts the hold and Carwin taps out.

Brock Lesnar defeated Shane Carwin via a arm-triangle choke submission move at 2:19 in Round 2.
