Urban Meyer Adviced Mike Krzyzewski about His Health
Mike Krzyzewski, 63, is an American college basketball coach. Mike Krzyzewski is currently the coach of the United States men’s national basketball team, whom he led to a gold medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics, and is also the coach of the Duke Blue Devils men’s basketball team.
Urban Meyer, a Florida coach said after Friday’s spring football practice with Duke Blue Devils basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski to discuss on how to manage and handle about his health. In 1995 season, Mike Krzyzewski missed 19 games due to his back injury and he had a hip replacement surgery.
“I think the biggest thing I learned from (Mike Krzyzewski) without getting into much detail is he surrounded himself with a little pack of people that he really trusts,” Meyer said. “If you look at his staff, they are all former players and he can do that because it’s a small staff. And I think that’s important, just surround you, get that little foxhole mentality with the guys that care about you and you care about them.”
