South Africa vs Mexico Results with Highlights

The 2010 FIFA World Cup really went out with a BANG! today as the first match South Africa vs Mexico gave every football fan what it wanted to see.. DRAMA!

During the first half of the game no one from both teams were able to score. The half ended with a 0-0 score. During the second half it was another story as South Africa looked really determined not to lose on home turf and on the very first match. Do note, NO host team has lost an opening match in the history of the World Cup. Maybe this is the reason why they worked really hard after the break.

At the 55th minute mark, South Africa scored a point and they now lead the match. History seems to be on its way to repeating itself until Rafael Marquez of Mexico scored a point for the visitors. This tied that match at 1-1. After those plays, no scores were anymore tallied. The game ended with a tie.

I found a video on YouTube that had the highlights for the South Africa vs Mexico match-up. You can watch it below. Enjoy!
