About 63 people has been confirmed dead from flooding and landslides in northern India since Saturday, according to our various sources.

Rakesh Kumar, disaster-management secretary of Uttarakhand state announced that 5,000 people has already been evacuated to safety from one of the three worst-hit districts of said state.

The state government has called in the federal emergency crews and army for rescue, according to officials.
All schools and colleges in the state have been ordered to remain closed for the next three days, said Kumar.

The 63 deaths recorded since Saturday have been caused by collapsed houses, landslides and drowning cases. Government officials fear the death count may rise.

India’s main weather office has forecast heavy rains in parts of Uttarakhand and the neighboring Uttar
Pradesh state during the next 24 hours.

More than 800 rain-related deaths have been reported from across the country since June this year.

More news about the floods in various Indian state will be posted here at Seyoh.com. Stay tuned for more updates!

It has been reported that 20 people were killed and 30 injured when a freight train collided with a passenger train waiting at a station in central India.

The crash took place in the state of Madhya Pradesh, said railway spokesman Anil Saxena. 10 of the injured were in critical condition, as what our sources in India said.

Right now, authorities could not immediately say what caused the train crash. Various investigation of the collision is currently happening right now.

India’s massive rail network that is used by thousands of Indian passengers everyday has a very poor safety record.

Official figures show 100 train accidents occurred in the country in the 2009 to 2010 fiscal year and 115 between 2008 and 2009.

More updates about the India train collision will be posted here at Seyoh.com

Under a 2006 agreement with the United States, the US Marines’ Futenma base was to be moved to the coast.

Demanding that a US military base be moved off the island, around 100,000 people have attended a rally in Japan’s southern island of Okinawa

The row over the base has undermined relations between his centre-left Government and the US. Demonstrators want Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama to stick to an election pledge to remove it completely.

The Japanese have long been resentful of the massive US base on the island, which is home to more than half the 47,000 US Troops that was based in Japan.

71 civilians were killed in a weekend air raid by Pakistani jets close to the Afghan border. In Peshawar Pakistan, a weekend strike killed 71 civilians by Pakistani jets near the Afghan border as witnessed by the survivors and a government official. in the Khyber tribal area, authorities had already handed out the equivalent of $125,000 in compensation to families of the victims.

Army spokesman Maj. Gen. Athar Abbas denied that any of the dead were civilians. For the air force had intelligence that militants were gathering at the site of the strike. Most of the victims were killed when they were trying to rescue people trapped by an earlier strike on the house of a village elder. The Pakistani army, under heavy pressure from the United States, has moved forcefully against Taliban and al-Qaida militants in the northwest over the last 1year and 6 months

Minke Whale and Calf Dragged by Whaling Ship – There has been a controversial incident that occured just today, A Minke Whale with Calf were found dead as they were dragged in by a whaling ship, A lot of countries have already banned the killings of any specie of whale, but here is a very controversial catch, New Zealand’s Proposal with Japan settles on a set of agreeable killing of whales every year, and this concerns Federal Government. See below for this Minke Whale and Calf Dragged by Whaling Ship story.

This Minke Whale and Calf Dragged by Whaling Ship was simply agreed by new Zealand because it was part of there proposal with Japan, Whaling countries are given the right to kill 1, 500 whales a year, i think this is a very high number myself, thinking of the number of populations of whales around. Australia who argued with this matter, and would strongly suggest a banned of these killings, If things gets rough, This Minke Whale and Calf Dragged by Whaling Ship incident wont be the last but just the first of millions.
