BP Oil Spill in Gulf of Mexico, Large Oil Skimming Vessel to be used
BP OIL SPILL IN GULF OF MEXICO — We have latest updates on the ‘still an issue’ BP Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Earlier, BP anounced their latest move to clean up the Gulf of Mexico and it is to the use the largest oil-skimming shop or vessel named ‘Whale’.
The Whale or ‘A Whale’ has been deployed in the Gulf to collect oil and the waters that have been in contact with the oil. It was reported that the ship is able to collect 21 million gallons a day.
The Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico is now the largest recorded oil spill in history to happen in the Gulf of Mexico. It surpassed previous record holder, Ixtoc I oil spill in Gulf of Mexico during the years 1979 to 1980.
This news however came out very untimely as oil skimming operations of any kind has been suspended due to Hurricane Alex.
A Whale was a perfect match for the BP oil spill in Gulf of Mexico as officials already declared it as the largest oil spill that ever happened in Gulf of Mexico as it surpassed the 140.6 million- gallon mark that was previously recorded by Ixtoc I oil spill in Gulf of Mexico’s coast during the years 1979 to 1980.
This news came very untimely as all oil skimming operations have been suspended due to Hurricane Alex.
